Natural Rooibos
Next to tea, rooibos is probably one of the most famous herbal infusions in the world. Yet the original rooibos comes from a very limited area, namely around the Ceder Mountains in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The plant is not related to the tea plant; the botanical name is 'Aspalathus Linearis,' but its leaves (or needles) are processed into a drinkable product in the same way that tea leaves are.
Rooibos has a naturally sweet taste with fruity notes and - unlike tea leaves - does not contain caffeine. It is often considered a healthy alternative to black or green tea because of its antioxidants and other nutrients it contains. Rooibos is known for its numerous positive side effects. For example, it is said to make a positive contribution to the reduction of asthma and certain allergies, it helps to calm the stomach after a meal and it is claimed that it also calms the mind before going to sleep. Our rooibos comes from organic production and combines the good of nature with the delicious sweetness in a cup.
