O. Bancha "Kyushu"

A special cup for the connoisseur. Bancha tea is a traditional Japanese green tea, harvested from the same bushes as the more refined Sencha tea, but often as a “second flush.” This means that Bancha is harvested at a later time in the year, often in late summer or early autumn. This allows the tea leaves to grow for a longer period of time; the leaves of Bancha tea are often larger and 'older' than those of Sencha, resulting in a somewhat stronger, more raw fragrance and taste; the tea also has a slightly more savory character than Sencha tea. This makes Bancha an ideal green tea for daily use.
